Yum Cha. Chinese. Seafood 🥟🏮🦐

This time we’re trying one of the most quintessential Chinese dishes – the yum cha or dim sum. Asking around for recommendations, we’re told to visit Haoke, a restaurant in Sunnybank Hills famous for its dim sum.

Despite being a bit tricky to find, HaoKe’s commonly said to be one of the best dim sim places in Brisbane. Located in a Chinese-majority suburb, they sell a wide array of yum cha, Cantonese and Szechwan cuisine, and other Chinese dishes.

The interior may look opulent, but most of HaoKe’s dishes are affordably priced, suitable for students, family, and working people alike. Another good thing about HaoKe is that they open late, until 2am – one of the very few places in Brisbane for the late diners.

HaoKe’s dim sums are of various sizes. You can pick a small dish for a light entrée, or an extra large dish to satisfy that dim sum crave. Our favourites are the massive and succulent XL Crab Roe Dim Sums and the Prawn Dumplings. Another nice dish that we tried was the Spare Ribs in Black Bean Sauce.

So far HaoKe’s dim sums have lived up to their reputation, but there is still more to explore. We hope to return and try their a la carte menu someday.  😊
